HOUSTON – Police say a man playing with a gun accidentally shot himself in the face at an apartment complex in southwest Houston Saturday night.
Houston Police said the man had been drinking and was showing off his gun to his friends in the courtyard of the complex on Boone and Glenwolde at about 11:45 p.m.

The gun accidentally fired and hit the man in the face, killing him, officials said.
Several people, including the victim's girlfriend, attempted CPR but were unsuccessful.
The man's name was not released.
