Man hospitalized after suspected road rage incident off the Gulf Freeway

HOUSTON – An 18-year-old man is in critical condition after police said he was shot during a suspected road rage incident in southeast Houston. 

The shooting happened at around 1 a.m. Saturday on the southbound feeder road of the Gulf Freeway at Fuqua.

Police say someone pointed a gun out a window of a car and starting shooting at a SUV.

A man sitting in the back seat was shot, as well as a tire and window. 

The SUV driver pulled into a shopping center parking lot and got the attention of a Houston police unit driving by. 

Houston Fire Department was called, and the man was taken to Memorial Hermann. 

Police have not released any description on the gunman or the suspect vehicle.
