HOUSTON – A business alarm alerted deputies to an Amegy Bank at the 4500 block of Research Forest Drive in The Woodlands, according to police reports.
According to police, the responding officer saw Rodney Dale Carroll, 59, exiting the building while pushing a chair on rollers. The chair appeared to have something on the seat, but it was covered with a coat.

When approached by the officer, Carroll provided the officer with a false name. Carroll then attempted to flee on foot. After the foot pursuit, Carroll was detained and returned to the location for further investigation, according to reports.
Officers determined Carroll possibly entered the building by using a key card, according to reports. After gaining entry to the bank, Carroll allegedly pried open teller drawers and attempted to steal an undisclosed amount of currency.
Carroll was arrested and charged with burglary of a building, evading detention, and failure to identify.
