Glitch causes rodeo ticket mix-up

HOUSTON – There is more frustration for customers trying to get tickets to the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo. This latest problem affected 150 rodeo volunteers who bought tickets during a Thursday pre-sale.

"I just had a really bad feeling with the new system way computers were working it was gonna be bad," Danielle Dudley told Local 2.

She purchased four sets of tickets to four shows but when her confirmation emails arrived, she says they didn't make sense.

"I was supposed to have Florida-Georgia Line tickets but it says Fall Out Boy and it's the wrong seats, then the second email that came in was for John Legend and I'm like I didn't pay to go see John Legend," Dudley said.

She alerted Rodeo Houston and the AXS ticketing site, but says she didn't get any resolution.

Tuesday afternoon, Joel Cowley, CEO of the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo acknowledged there was a 48-minute technical glitch last Thursday where the site issued incorrect ticket confirmations. Cowley said the mistake was quickly recognized and corrected Thursday, but some customers did not realize it.

"She was sent corrected confirmation numbers and she was offered better seating, she's one row closer," Cowley said.

Dudley said she received corrected confirmation numbers late Tuesday but says the seats are still incorrect.
