Harris County deputies discovered the bodies of the father and daughter inside the home after neighbors called for a welfare check.

Investigators said Ross' silver Chrysler 200 was taken from the scene.

They spoke to Homer Ross's other daughter, who gave them names of possible people of interest in the case.

Bazile was a friend of Ross' grandson, deputies said.

According to deputies, Bazile was also caught on surveillance video from a nearby home going into Ross's home before the murders.

Texas Southern University Police tried to pull over a Chrysler 200 for driving erratically on April 27.

The driver led officers on a short chase before ditching the vehicle, police said.

According to police, Bazile's mother arrived at the scene as they were towing the car and turned in her son for the murders and the theft of the vehicle.

She told officers that her son confessed to killing Homer and Katherine Ross because they caught him trying to steal money.

Bazile is being held without bond.
