Man beaten, robbed at convenience store

Neighbors worried about string of burglaries

BAYTOWN, Texas – A string of violent crimes has people in one part of Baytown worried.

According to the Baytown Police Department, the area has a history of problems related to violent crime.

Employees and customers at Jones 7-11-7 convenience store, said they're on alert.

On Monday afternoon a group of seven males, believed to be between the ages 16 and 19, assaulted and robbed a man outside of the store in the 3100 block of Garth Road.

The attack has made others concerned for their safety.

Baytown police said two convenience stores have been targeted recently for violent crimes. Both are located on Garth Road near Northwood Street.

Officer said they are trying to keep a heavy presence in the area, but some people said not enough is being done to protect their families.

While there are surveillance cameras inside, police said they are looking for any information or security video from nearby business that could show the crime.
