HOUSTON – A man is in custody after leading police on a chase through north Houston late Thursday night.
Houston police said it all started around 11 p.m. Thursday when an officer tried to pull over a truck for a traffic violation on W. Mount Houston at Airline.

Officials said the driver took off speeding, leading officers on a chase while running several red lights.
Police set up spikes at Bauman at Tidwell. Officers said the driver got a flat tire, but continued to 34th Street until he drove into a field.
Officers quickly took the man into custody.
Police said the man had recently bought crack and that's why he would not pull over.
