Police said a customer helped the manager by following French’s vehicle while on the phone with police.

Officials were able to stop the vehicle and discovered a female driver, Sharifah Abdullah-Bolen, who told police that French fled the vehicle before she was stopped, police said.

According to police, French was later located at a local business and pushed past the officer when he attempted to flee the scene, but two customers held French down to the ground, and he was handcuffed by police.

Officials said they found the fake $20 bills on French and $360 in counterfeit bills hidden in the trunk of the vehicle.
