Man accused of killing dog, hurting girlfriend

Joseph Threadgill is accused of shooting and killing a dog.

HARRIS COUNTY – A man is facing several charges in Harris County after an incident that left a dog dead.

According to court documents, 45-yaer-old Joseph Threadgill, is accused of shooting and killing a dog on Sunday. The dog belonged to his girlfriend's aunt.

Investigators said Threadgill shot the dog in front of two children. They do not know the motive for the shooting.

Threadgill is charged with cruelty to non-livestock animals.

He is also charged with assault of a family member after investigators said he grabbed his girlfriend's arm after she became upset about the dog being shot.

Threadgill made his first court appearance Tuesday morning. He's being held in the Harris County Jail.
