Man accused of impersonating HCSO deputy

Omari Moye is accused of impersonating an officer.

HOUSTON – A man was arrested for allegedly impersonating a Harris County sheriff's deputy.

Police said Omari Moye, 26, used a stolen Harris County Sheriff's Office badge in an attempt to represent himself as an officer.

According to court documents, Moye used the badge at a hotel at 12500 North Freeway on March 10.

Court documents state Moye's intent was to get a woman to "submit to his pretended official authority."

Police were not able to provide further details about what Moye allegedly did with the badge.

The victim was a 22-year-old woman.

Moye is charged with impersonating a public servant. He is being held in the Harris County Jail on $5,000 bond.
