Man accused of forcing child to perform sex acts

John Paul Ebarb held in jail without bond

NEW CANEY, Texas – A man has been accused of making child pornography and detectives are trying to determine how many children were forced to perform sexual acts.

John Paul Ebarb, 41, has been charged with manufacturing and distribution of child pornography and sexual performance by a child. He is being held in the Montgomery County Jail without bond.

Montgomery County sheriff's deputies said Ebarb was making child pornography in the New Caney area and sent it to people in other states.

InvestigatorsMan accused of forcing child to perform sex acts said they know of at least one child who was involved, but they are worried that other children may have been involved.

Neighbors who lived close to Ebarb say they are glad he's been caught. "A little safer because there's no telling what all went on down there and who all is involved," said Michelle Frizzell, a neighbor on Wren Road. She told Local 2, "But I feel better knowing that he is off of the streets and my home is safer now."

Montgomery County Sheriff's spokesman Lt. Dan Norris said, "Investigators are interested if anyone may know John Ebarb, they're interested to know if there could be other victims that are out there in our community.

Court documents show Ebarb was convicted of murder in 1997 and was released last year.

According to a prison blog, he said he earned an associate's degree and learned about computers.
