Police: Mom charged after biting, dropping her baby son

HIGHLANDS – A Houston mother is facing charges after police say she bit her baby son, hit him, then dropped him on the floor.

Dawn Elizabeth Greene is charged with injury to child. Deputies say Greene and her baby son were staying at her brother's home in the 500 block of N. Main Street in Highlands. At around 3 a.m. Sunday, Greene's brother heard the baby crying, went to investigate and found the baby on the floor, Harris County Precinct 3 Constable Capt. Jack Hagee said.

Greene's brother then called authorities for a welfare check.

Deputies say they found the baby injured, and EMS transported the baby to a hospital with unknown injures.

Greene, 24, is being held in the Harris County Jail without bond. She is due in court on Tuesday to have an attorney assigned, according to court records

Greene has a previous criminal history for unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, DWI and possession of marijuana.
