HOUSTON - Harris County deputies spent the early hours of Monday morning searching for evidence at a north Harris County apartment complex.
Deputies said neighbors at the Augusta apartments called 911 around 11:00 p.m. Sunday night. They heard gunshots and called police to the complex off of Wayforest Drive and Richcrest Drive.
When deputies arrived, they found the victim's body inside a second story unit.
Steve Moore, one of the managers at the complex, said crime was an issue in the past, and something he worked to control.
He told Local 2 the suspect was the victim's roommate.
"I talked with two ladies who say they are relatives of the person who was killed, they said he was a nice man and was actually trying to help the person financially who they believe killed him," said Moore.
Deputies said the motive in this case is unknown.
