HSCO: Family robbed in armed carjacking spree

Investigators: Deputies believe one man behind 3 attacks

HARRIS COUNTY, Texas – Deputies have issued an alert after a violent carjacking spree in northwest Harris County, investigators said.

They said in the last 24 hours, the culprit has stolen at least three vehicles.

His latest victim was at an apartment complex off of Airtex Boulevard and Interstate 45, deputies said.

A woman told Local 2 she was getting something out of her trunk at the Kimberly Point Apartments.

She said a man with a gun approached and demanded her purse.

The woman, who did not want to be identified, said the man took her purse and then stole her dark blue Volkswagen Passat.

Just hours earlier around 2:30 a.m., investigators said the carjacker approached a family in the 23000 block of Brushy Canyon.

He took wallets, cellphones and cash from two adults in the front seat all while two children were in the back seat.

Investigators then forced them out of their SUV and drove off.

Deputies said the initial carjacking in the spree happened in the 15000 block of Ella Boulevard.

They said the carjacker targeted a driver in a BMW in that crime.

Deputies said the carjacker was last seen in a red hoodie.

They also said he has dreadlocks.

He was last seen in the final victim's dark blue Passat, according to investigators.
