HOUSTON - A woman is facing charges, accused of stealing a patrol car and attempting to run over a deputy.

The Brazoria County Sheriff's Office says at around 10:15 Thursday morning, deputies responded to a disturbance in progress in the 18000 block of Sage St. in Rosharon. Deputies say they discovered a man had been stabbed multiple times.

After conducting a search of the area, a black female suspect wielding a knife, charged towards a deputy as he exited his patrol car. Deputies say the suspect gained control of the patrol car and attempted to drive over the Deputy. He discharged his weapon striking the front driver side tire.

A second deputy arrived and discharged his weapon at the rear driver side tire in an attempt to disable the unit.

A pursuit ensued and the suspect travelled west on FM 1462 into Fort Bend County where she crashed the patrol car into a field and was taken into custody. The suspect, Briana Miles, is being questioned at the Brazoria County Sheriff's Office.

The stabbing victim, identified as Richard Bowman, was treated by EMS and transported by LifeFlight to Memorial Hermann Hospital for further treatment.
