Lil' Rusters Rodeo event opens for special-needs children at NRG Center

HOUSTON – The second full week of Rodeo Houston is underway. Some very special little cowboys and cowgirls are getting a chance to become a rodeo star.

The event starts at 5 p.m. from Monday and continues Wednesday at the NRG Center in the Main area

The Special Children’s Committee had created the special needs event so physically or developmentally challenged children can participate in one of Houston’s biggest annual events. The committee invited kids from schools and social service agencies to enjoy the festivities

The “Lil’ Rustlers Rodeo” event provides special-needs children a chance to feel like a rodeo star with playful horse races, seesaws improvised as bulls and hay barrels similar to steers, the committee said.
