Woman drowns after crashing car in ditch in southwest Houston

Houston officials investigating 2 potential weather-related deaths

HOUSTON – The Houston Police Department said a woman crashed into a ditch Saturday in the 6300 block of Beverley Hill Street.

Police said the woman, 30, drowned after exiting her vehicle.

Her body floated to a culvert more than two miles away and was found in the 1900 block of Briargrove Drive.

Police said they believe a body found along the shoulder of St. Parkway Drive near Dowling Street may also be another drowning.

Police said they were are working with forensics to determine if both deaths are weather-related.
