Houston-bound Southwest Airlines flight forced to return to Memphis after bird strikes aircraft

HOUSTON – A Southwest Airline flight to Houston was forced to return to Memphis Sunday after a bird struck the aircraft, airline officials said.

Officials said the 118 passengers and five crew members aboard Flight 486 had landed safely for inspection of the plane. There were no reported injuries, officials said.

The aircraft is currently out of service until inspected.
