HCSO: Shots fired at Wells Fargo bank in northwest Harris County

Police are looking for an armed suspect

HARRIS COUNTY – Authorities are looking for the armed suspect who fired shots inside a bank in northwest Harris County.

It happened at the Wells Fargo bank in the 5000 block of Louetta near Kuykendahl just before 7 a.m. Friday.

Officials said the armed suspect entered the bank, demanded money and forced employees to the the safe.

Employees were unable to open the safe, so the suspect threatened them for about an hour.

The sheriff's office said the suspect eventually fired several shots at the safe and then took off.

The suspect is described as a black man in his mid 20s. He's about 5 feet 5 inches tall and was last seen wearing a shiny, charcoal-colored denim pants, a black hoodie and a ski mask.

The FBI Bank Robbery Task Force is investigating.

No one was injured during the robbery.
