HazMat responds after tanker leaks chemicals onto highway in Seabrook

SEABROOK, Texas – Cleanup crews were busy Tuesday morning after chemicals from a tanker truck spilled onto the highway in Seabrook.

According to Seabrook police, an 18-wheeler was headed northbound in the 2200 block of Highway 146 when witnesses saw fluid spilling over the top. The witnesses called 911 to report the incident and the intersection was closed off at Highway 146 at Redbluff.

The Seabrook Volunteer Fire Department and Harris County HazMat were called to the scene.

It was determined that Ethanolamine spilled from the tank. Crews managed to contain the leak and no shelter in place was needed.

There were also no reports of any injuries.
