Local rapper accused of prostituting teens at Fifth Ward motel

HOUSTON – A man was arrested Wednesday and is now facing three counts of compelling prostitution.

Sources said Robert Primes, a former Prairie View A&M football player, recruited three runaways from a local children center and pimped them out from a motel in the Fifth Ward. Two of the alleged victim are only 15 and 13 years old.

Had he been here before in the past? No, this was the first time here,” said Sammy Bahkte, the hotel manager.

Bahkte said he remembers renting a room to Primes but never could have imagined what the man is accused doing.

“When we rent the room we don't know what they're going to be,” the manager said.

Residents in the area were too worried to speak on camera, but tell KPRC 2 they’re not surprised by what could have been happening in their own backyard.

Primes is currently behind bars at the Harris County Jail, waiting to face a judge.

“I feel so bad because I was the one who rented a room to him,” Bahkte said. “But we don't know.”
