Former Cy-Fair ISD teacher accused of having sexual relationship with student

HARRIS COUNTY – A former middle school teacher with Cy-Fair ISD has been charged after allegedly having an an ongoing inappropriate relationship with a student.

The alleged sexual relationship happened while Kristina Lynn Moore, 48, was a teacher and science coach at Thornton Middle School.

According to court documents, Moore is accused of starting a sexual relationship with a boy when he was a student at Thornton Middle School. The boy told investigators the relationship continued after he graduated from middle school and moved on to high school.

According to court documents, the boy admitted to investigators that he had a sexual relationship with Moore for over a year, approximately from February of 2013 to May of 2014. The boy said he was 14 years old in February of 2013.

According to court documents, the sexual acts happened at Thornton Middle School, at the Moore's house, at the student's house and on a dead-end road near an elementary school in the 5900 block of Plantation Forest in Katy.

Moore is charged with two counts of sexual assault of a child. Her bond is set at $30,000. She appeared before a magistrate Thursday morning after her arrest.

Cy-Fair ISD released the following statement:

"The teacher in question was removed from campus immediately when the allegations were made and is no longer an employee of the district. We are extremely concerned by the seriousness of the charges and will continue to cooperate with law enforcement. The safety of our students is our number one priority; inappropriate behavior will not be tolerated."

Cy-Fair opened an investigation in April, Moore was removed from the campus in May and has since been fired. She was arrested Wednesday.

Sexual assault of a child is a second degree felony. If convicted, Moore faces a punishment of up to 20 years in prison.
