HOUSTON – Authorities said a father was arrested after his son was left in a car while the man was inside a southwest Houston Mexican restaurant. early Monday morning.
It happened in the early morning hours of Monday at Taqueria Cancun Mexican Restaurant, located in the 8100 block of S. Gessner.

Officials said Manuel Alejandro Banulos, 27, left his 5-year-old son in the car.
According to court documents, Banulos would come out and knock on the window to check on his son. Officials said the boy was left alone for about 30 minutes.
Police were called to the scene and Banulos was arrested. He's charged with abandoning a child and is being held on a $2,000 bond.
Banulos' next court appearance is set for Wednesday.
