Family fights group of mistaken kidnappers

HOUSTON – A family fought a group of men that they thought had kidnapped their son, according to the Harris County Sheriff's Office.

Deputies said they received a call from the boy's mother, who claimed he had been kidnapped around 12:15 a.m. on Sunday.

The family of the teenage boy then went looking for him and found him in a vehicle parked at a gas station on Woodforest and East Sam Houston Parkway.

Deputies said the family jumped out and began fighting with the people in the car, believing the boy was being held against his will.  The boy was voluntarily with the men, according to deputies.

No one was injured in the fight, and no charges were filed in this case.

However, three people involved in the fight were arrested for outstanding warrants not related to the mistaken kidnapping.

The names of the parties involved were not immediately released.
