Driver runs red light, flees crash scene on foot

HOUSTON – Two people were in the hospital Saturday morning after a driver ran a red light and crashed in southwest Houston.

Police said around 2:30 a.m., a driver in a Dodge Charger was headed West on the Southwest Freeway service road.

According to investigators, the driver ran a red light at the intersection of Kirby Drive and slammed into a pickup truck.

The passenger in the pickup was ejected and landed in the middle of the road.

Medical responders transported both the passenger and the driver of the pickup truck to the hospital in serious condition.

The driver of the Dodge Charger that ran the red light jumped out of the vehicle and fled the scene on foot.
