Police investigating at least 12 break-ins in Pearland Area

PEARLAND, Texas – Pearland police are investigating at least a dozen home break-ins that have happened in one community this month.

The latest incident happened Wednesday night on Baymeadow Drive in the Shadow Creek Ranch subdivision.  The homeowner tells Local 2 she arrived home at around 10:15 p.m. Wednesday and saw her bathroom window shattered.  When she went inside her bedroom, she found jewelry, cameras and a gun were all missing.

"I feel violated and I am not happy," the homeowner said.

According to Pearland police, there have been at least a dozen break-ins in Shadow Creek Ranch in the month of January.  Residents say it's a big shock to this typically quiet community.  "I have never been robbed and I have lived in the greater Pearland area for 15 years," the homeowner said.

Police say the break-ins seem to be connected because in each case the thieves break in by shattering a window in the back of the house.  In some cases they get away with stolen items and in other cases they don't.  Another resident Local 2 spoke to says her alarm went off when the thieves broke in and they left without taking anything.

As of right now the only tip investigators have to go on is a possible getaway car that is described as an older dark-colored Chevy Impala.  If you have any information, call Pearland police.
