DPS identifies person of interest after baby left in car crash

CONROE, Texas – The Texas Department of Public Safety has identified a person of interest in a case involving a man who left an injured baby lying on the road after a car crash.

The accident happened after 10 p.m. July 20 on East Williams Road near South Williams Road.

Officers say the driver left the scene after a 5-month-old flew nearly 15 feet from the car during the crash.

The Texas Department of Public Safety says that no arrests have been made in this case. The relationship between the person and child is unclear.

The 5-month-old has been released into the custody of Child Protective Services.
