Double lung transplant recipient participates in Fashion Cures Kids Inc. 6th Annual Fashion Show

SUGAR LAND, Texas – Angelina Flack has come a long way in six months.

In July 2016, the 14-year-old received a double lung transplant at Texas Children’s Hospital.

Diagnosed with cystic fibrosis, Angelina needed two new lungs and waited more than two years to get them.

Now she’s feeling like a new person.

“I am feeling awesome, I am feeling terrific, I can do anything now!” Angelina said.

Angelina participated in the Fashion Cures Kids Inc. 6th Annual Fashion Show.

The teen was invited to participate last year, but she was too sick to walk the 35-foot catwalk.

She was in a wheelchair and was on oxygen and couldn’t make it.

This year, it’s a different story.

“She’s a walking miracle,” said Rose Arevalo, Angelina’s grandmother. “We are so grateful.”

Fashion Cures Kids provides fashion shows and photo shoot opportunities to children living with serious health conditions. All of the money raised at Friday’s show will benefit the next show.

Angelina said she wants people to see her as living proof that organ donation saves lives.

“It’s so important because there aren’t that many donors in the world,” she said. “There are so many kids and grown-ups who need it so badly and they die because they don’t get their transplant.”
