Police investigate alleged assault after man cut with glass shard

Officials say domestic dispute turned physical

COLLEGE STATION, Texas – A person is accused of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, following a domestic dispute that turned violent, police said Monday.

The College Station Police Department learned of the assault just after 10:30 p.m. Sunday, from a phone call reporting the incident, according to a news release from officers.

Police went to a location on Bosque Drive to investigate, and found a man who had been cut on the face with a piece of glass, officers said. He was taken to a hospital, treated and released.

Police identified the person responsible, but haven’t named him or her publicly. “There is no danger to the public,” the release said.

Someone is charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon if that person “then and there intentionally, knowingly, or recklessly causes bodily injury to another, including the person’s spouse, and did then and there use or exhibit a deadly weapon during the commission of said assault.”

It’s considered a second-degree felony.
