NEW YORK – The home of Broadway and where they do things their way. It's also the land of the Yankees -- the Astros' opponent in the American League Championship Series.
In Times Square there were plenty of Yankees fans -- and even those from the team the Astros defeated in the American League Division Series.
"I think Houston's got it, especially now," said Greg Towers, a Red Sox fan from Cape Cod. "They won the first two games. It's probably over in four or five games."
And after searching the crowd we were able to track down some Stros fans.
Dori Levit is from Sugar Land -- an actress proudly sporting her Astros hat in the sea of humanity in Manhattan. Levit said the team has been a joy to watch from afar.
"The cohesiveness of the team, in general, is just so inspiring to watch," Levit said. "And this is just a really important time for our city to have a team like this come from the bottom up."
We also ran into Chris Riggs from The Heights. Riggs has a group of friends flying in Monday to watch games three and four at Yankee Stadium. Riggs knows a series win against the Yankees after taking down Boston would be a major achievement for the team.
"For them, it'd be awesome but for the fans and us in Houston it'd be way more awesome because we've been waiting for his for a very long time," Riggs said. "I mean, I'm not going to say we hate Boston or New York, but they're a very big rival and they're the best in the game. So to beat them is something really, really cool."
Astros fans are hoping the team can win two of the three games in New York and end the ALCS at Yankee Stadium.
