Couple loses home in 2-alarm fire in Katy area

Cause of fire under investigation

KATY, Texas – A Katy couple is looking for a place to stay after a fire destroyed their home.

The West Interstate 10 Fire Department arrived at the home at around 12:40 a.m Saturday on Park Knoll Road and Cimmaron Parkway.

Crews found heavy flames coming from the two-story home and quickly pulled two-alarms.

Additional fire departments arrived soon after to assist in putting out the flames.

There was a married couple home at the time, but they both were able to escape safely.

Their home, however, was a total loss.

According to firefighters, the fire started in the attached garage and spread quickly.

The couple also had ammunition stored in the home that ignited. The official cause of the fire is still under investigation.
