Investigators said Ochoa, who works at a Shell station at 1101 Jackson, asked a minor purchasing alcohol for identification. He scanned the license and the register beeped, indicating that the person was not eligible to buy the beverages, but he sold it to the minor anyway, police said.

Detectives said Singh, an employee at JB Food Mart #1 at 1706 F.M. 1640, sold alcohol to a minor without asking for identification.

Both Ochoa and Singh were charged with sale of alcohol to a minor, a class-A misdemeanor.

Police said several other stores in the city were tested in the sting and all of them passed.
