Community removes basketball hoop from park due to profanity

MCDONALD, Pa. – One group of kids will have to find a new place to play basketball after their community took down their basketball hoops.

Their basketball hoop was taken down after neighbors complained of the loud profanity coming from the players, according to WTAE.

Police have confronted the teenagers, but the language has not stopped, WTAE said. The players believe it is free speech, but the neighbors say it’s offensive.

“The language has been bad to the point where we had many complaints from many individuals,” says Patrick Powell, president of the borough council in McDonald, Pennsylvania.

Powell says that the teenagers can’t be arrested because they’re underage, however, they can take away their use of the facility.
