Car slams into police cruiser; 1 person dead

Tocarra Dubor charged with intoxicated manslaughter

HOUSTON – An accident involving a Houston police officer in the southwest part of the city left one person dead and another facing serious charges.

Police said around 2 a.m. Sunday, Tocarra Dubor, 29, and Aresha Griffin were driving down Richmond Avenue near Jeanetta when their car slammed into the back driver-side corner of a Houston police car.

Investigators said the accident sent Dubor's car veering off the road into a nearby parking lot.

Police said Griffin was hanging out of the car at the time of the accident and was slammed into a tree when when the crash occurred.

Griffin was killed.

Dubor has since been charged with intoxication manslaughter in the accident.

The officer was not hurt.
