Car salesman stabbed at dealership

HOUSTON – A car salesman was stabbed at a dealership, and police said his girlfriend's ex-boyfriend was his attacker.

Houston police said a man kidnapped his ex-girlfriend from the Houston Community College's Spring Branch campus about 5 p.m. Monday and forced her, at gunpoint, to call her current boyfriend, who is a salesman at Gilman Honda in the 10500 block of the West Sam Houston Parkway.

The man and his ex-girlfriend went to the dealership. The man hid while his ex-girlfriend met her boyfriend in his car in the parking lot, investigators said.

Detectives said the man then confronted the car salesman and stabbed him.

Shots were also fired, but no one was wounded, police said.

The car salesman drove to a car wash bay at the dealership and ran for help, officials said. Employees at the dealership called 911.

The attacker jumped into the car salesman's car and drove away with his ex-girlfriend, police said. The woman was later dropped off at an undisclosed location, officials said.

The car salesman was taken to Ben Taub Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

"HPD has indicated this was an isolated incident. It does not involve any other Gillman employees, and does not pose an on-going threat. The safety and security of our employees is our utmost concern. Our security company will be assessing our current security procedures and will be providing additional security," said Stacey Gillman Wimbish, president of Gilman Companies.

The attacker has not been arrested. Police have not released his name or a description of him.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.
