Deputies: Dog remains found in northwest Harris County field

HOUSTON – Decomposing remains that were found Thursday in a northwest Harris County field belong to a dog, deputies said.

The discovery was reported just before 11 a.m. near the intersection of State Highway 6 and Point Northwest Boulevard.

Harris County deputies said the remains were found after a person living at a nearby apartment complex called 911 and complained of an odor. They said the remains were in a plastic container that had been taped shut.

No other details were immediately released.
