'Big Texas Party' brings spirit of Houston to Super Bowl partiers

HOUSTON – The "Big Texas Party" is one of several events taking place during Super Bowl week.

The event brought along plenty of excitement.

It was a star-studded event, complete with a red carpet arrival, big-name celebrities and several professional athletes, both past and present.

The cool thing about this particular party is that it's billed as the only pre-game bash that celebrates the spirit of Houston.

That'll mean good food, music and fun.

And even better? A portion of the proceeds will benefit The Center, a facility which helps adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

We caught up with a few of familiar faces taking part in this big event to talk about it and Super Bowl week in Houston.

"Any time you are on an event like this in Texas it's good. The weathers been great," Former Dallas Cowboy Ed Jones said.

"I've covered probably the last 18 Super Bowls can honestly say Houston is as good as any city making all the guests from all over the world feel welcomed," Former Oiler Mike Barber said.
