Baytown man accused of smashing friend's TVs

Ronnie Eugene Geters, 59, is charged with criminal mischief for allegedly smashing televisions that belonged to his friend.

BAYTOWN, Texas – A Baytown man is facing charges after allegedly breaking his friend's televisions.

It happened Saturday at an apartment complex on the 1700 block of James Bowie Drive.

Ronnie Geters, 59, is accused of breaking four televisions in a wheelchair-bound man's apartment.

Police responded to a call and met with the complainant, 61, in the manager's office at his complex. The man told police he had a friend stay the night and needed assistance.

Authorities say Geters became agitated and broke three RCA televisions valued at $50 apiece and a $200 Magnavox television by throwing them to the ground.

Police say they found Geters in the kitchen of the complainant's apartment. The man was under the influence of alcohol, according to authorities. He was taken into custody without incident.

Geters is being held in the Harris County Jail on $5,000 bond.
