Arson investigating fire at Houston office building

HOUSTON – Firefighters battled heavy smoke during a fire at an office building near downtown Houston.

It happened just before 9:15 a.m. Thursday at the building in the 300 block of Jackson Hill.

Houston fire officials said firefighters were met with heavy smoke coming from the building's third floor.

Investigators said no one was injured, but there was heavy damage to the third floor.

The fire was declared under control shortly after 11am.

Authorities with the HFD Arson Bureau are investigating what caused the fire to start.
