8 men swipe ATM from north Houston hotel

HOUSTON – Eight men on Wednesday stormed into a hotel near George Bush Intercontinental Airport in north Houston and stole an ATM, police said.

The theft was reported about 3:30 a.m. at the Holiday Inn near the corner of Kenswick Drive and Will Clayton Parkway.

Houston police said the hotel manager reported seeing the group break through the window of the front door, walk into the lobby and then steal the ATM. The manager said the group put the ATM into a van and fled the scene, police said.

Police said two of the men may have had guns.

No one was injured.

Wednesday's incident was the latest in a rash of ATM thefts that have happened across Houston since December. Several of them have happened at hotels near the Bush airport. However, police did not say whether Wednesday's theft was related to the others.
