$3K worth of valuables taken in vehicle burglary in Pearland

PEARLAND, Texas – The Brazoria County Sheriff's Office is looking for a man who broke into a car and stole about $3,000 worth of items.

It happened just before 3 a.m. Thursday in the 7700 block of Lakeside Manor Lane.

A backpack was taken with a computer and Rolex watch inside, along with some other things.

Surveillance video captured an image of one young man opening the passenger side door of a car. There appears to be a second suspect who is standing across the street.

Dawn Navarro's husband is the victim. She said they always make sure their vehicle doors are locked because they've had problems with thefts in the past. On this particular morning, they forgot and left one open.

"You do forget," Dawn said. "You live in a neighborhood that's comfortable. Everyone's comfortable."

Navarro and her husband are hoping someone will recognize the culprit and call the police.

"We work hard for our stuff," she said. "To me I just think this is awful."
