39th Annual Big Super Feast kicks off at GRB

HOUSTON – Mayor Sylvester Turner will greet and shake hands with the volunteers Thursday at the 39th Annual Thanksgiving Super Feast at the George R. Brown Convention Center.

The annual Thanksgiving dinner is organized by City Wide Club and feeds thousands of Houstonians.

The Big Super Feast is open to the public and begins at 10 a.m. on Thanksgiving Day. Staff and volunteers expect to serve more than 25,000 meals. They will also provide clothes, health screenings and gift baskets to those stop in.

The event runs until 2 p.m. or as long as there is food to serve and people wanting to be served, organizers said.
