2014 Offshore Technology Conference underway in Houston

HOUSTON – The 2014 Offshore Technology Conference kicked off Monday at Reliant Center.

The technology conference is expected to draw in more than 100,000 people over the course of just four days.

The annual convention offers the latest technology in offshore equipment under one roof.

"OTC is the showcase for what's happening in the oil and gas business, especially in the sub-sea realm," said Patrick Kimball with FMC Technologies. "It's a good opportunity to get with the public and let them know about the latest things we are doing."

There are more than 2,700 exhibitors on site using more than 680,000 square feet, which is equal to about twelve football fields.

The conference ends on Thursday.
