2 wanted in man's robbery, death

HOUSTON – Two men are wanted in connection with a robbery in northwest Harris County that left a former Marine dead.

Harris County sheriff's deputies said two men approached Alexander Segura, 28, and a woman as they were sitting in a car at an apartment complex in the 9000 block of Jones Road about 3 a.m. on Monday.

Investigators said the couple was robbed.

After the robbery, Segura chased the attackers, detectives said. He was then shot by them, deputies said.

Segura was taken to Ben Taub Hospital, where he died.

"I want them brought to justice. They have taken away a wonderful man. A wonderful son. A wonderful father. A wonderful brother," said Segura's father, Alex Segura, Junior. "The hardest thing is my grandson will never see him again. He will never know what kind of a man he was. What kind of a father he was to him."

The gunman was described as black with a dark complexion, in his 20s and 5 feet 7 inches to 5 feet 11 inches tall with a slight build.

The second robber was described as black with a light to medium complexion, in his late teens to early 20s and about 5 feet 11 inches tall with an average build.

Both men were wearing dark-colored clothing at the time of the attack.

Anyone with information is asked to call the HCSO Homicide Unit at 713-967-5810 or Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.
