2 men arrested, accused in string of car burglaries

Several cars broken into Monday morning

SUGAR LAND, Texas – Two men were in custody, accused of taking part in a crime spree in Sugar Land on Monday.

Investigators said David Estrada, 24, and Alexander Estrada, 20, broke into several cars early Monday morning. Officers were called out to a car burglary around 1:30 a.m. at the Methodist Sugar Land Hospital, 16675 Southwest Freeway. Officers found two vehicles were broken into, and both had money and other items stolen from inside.

Two hours later at 3:22 a.m. police were called to another car burglary on 4511 Colony Glen Court, when a woman heard the car alarm go off. A car was broken into but nothing from inside was taken.

Less than 10 minutes later at 3:30 a.m. police were called to a home on 16719 Rustic Colony in response to a suspicious person call. That's when both David and Alexander Estrada were stopped and inside their vehicle, police said they found items from the vehicles that were broken into earlier in the night, according to investigators.

Both men, who are from Missouri City, were arrested and charged with two counts of burglary of a motor vehicle.
