HOUSTON – The new year started off with several wrecks on Houston roads.
Houston police responded to more than two dozen incidents between 1 and 5 a.m. Tuesday.
"Not been a good night to be driving out here," Houston Police Department Sgt. Herman Estrella said. "It's wet, the roads are slick."
There was a four-vehicle collision on the Beltway near the Southwest Freeway shortly after 3 a.m. The driver who caused the wreck left the scene before officers arrived, investigators said.
In all the wrecks throughout the city, many cars were damaged and a few people were hurt, but no deaths were reported.
