HOUSTON – A woman and her elderly mother were terrified when two men broke into their southeast Houston home on Monday.

Houston police said the break-in happened in the 6300 block of Crestville near Southcrest about noon.

Emma Saucedo said she heard glass break in her kitchen. Instead of confronting the burglars, she retreated. She hid under a bed in her room while her 80-year-old mom hid under a bed in another room.

Saucedo has her cellphone and called 911. She also called her daughter.

"She was scared they might have done something to her or my grandma," said Saucedo's daughter, Mayra.

The burglars were caught as they tried to carry the family's TV set away. The dropped the TV in the back yard when police pulled up and ran into the street, where they were arrested. Their names have not been released.
