A Florida teen is recovering in the hospital after beach officials say he was bitten by a shark Sunday afternoon.
According to NBC Affiliate WLTV, the 13-year-old was attacked while swimming in the surf in Neptune Beach, east of Jacksonville.

He was pulled to safety by other swimmers.
A witness told WLTV that he saw a woman carrying a boy out of the water.
"Someone (was) saying, 'Oh, my God, he got bit.'" the witness said. "All you see is blood dripping and dripping."
Police say he suffered "a huge gash" on his leg and was taken to the the hospital in stable condition. The injuries are not considered life threatening.
Officers believe the injury is consistent with a a 5- to 6-foot shark.
They say bites are extremely rare in that area, but swimmers should still be cautious in the water.
