HOUSTON - The Houston Zoo is becoming a winter wonderland at night.
Zoo Lights features more than 300,000 colorful lights, festive holiday music and lots of tasty treats.
Thousands of lights are wrapped around trees and there are colorful projections that are more than 15 feet tall. There are also life-size animated animal sculptures. Carolers stroll throughout the Zoo, and local church and school choirs perform nightly.
Zoo Lights runs 6 to 10 p.m. Friday through Jan. 5. It is closed on Christmas Eve but is open on Christmas Day.
Tickets are $8 for members and $10 for non-members. Children under the age of 2 are free.
KPRC Local 2 will air a behind-the-scenes special called Zoo Lights: A Wild Holiday Celebration on Nov. 30 at 7 p.m.
