Thousands of lights are wrapped around trees and there are colorful projections that are more than 15 feet tall. There are also life-size animated animal sculptures. Carolers stroll throughout the Zoo, and local church and school choirs perform nightly.

Zoo Lights runs 6 to 10 p.m. Friday through Jan. 5. It is closed on Christmas Eve but is open on Christmas Day.

Tickets are $8 for members and $10 for non-members. Children under the age of 2 are free.

KPRC Local 2 will air a behind-the-scenes special called Zoo Lights: A Wild Holiday Celebration on Nov. 30 at 7 p.m.
