HOUSTON – The Military History Museum is a 501©(3) not-for-profit charitable institution dedicated to the preservation of our nation's military history. The original intent of the museum is to maintain the memory of our American soldiers.
Housed in Houston's historic East End, the Military History Museum is the first of what will hopefully become a museum district in the Second Ward (the Houston Maritime Museum and the Houston Railroad Museum are considering a move to the East End). Families and children are exactly who the MHM's Jesse Hernandez hopes to attract to his museum.
The museum holds an extensive collection of artifacts covering all of the armed services of the United States, currently displaying a vast cross section spanning from 1836 through the Gulf War. The museum is dedicated to the education of the youth of today and tomorrow, helping them understand that freedom does not come without personal sacrifice.
